Why RFID?
RFID is a proven technology that allows an item to be tracked and located by an AIMS scanner from up to 10
meters away. Thousands of items, pallets and bulk stores can be scanned and located per second using 1Logic’s patented technology.

What is RFID?
Radio Frequency Identification involves a passive (unpowered) radio antenna and microchip embeded within a label or "tag" that contains a very small amount of data, including a unique identifier. When a certain radio signal is broadcast towards the tag, this energises the tag enough to cause it to transmit its data back to the device, without the need for batteries. [Reference]

RFID has been used in different sectors from livestock management to personnel security from as early as the 1990s [Reference]. Its potential for broadscale inventory management within the retail and warehousing sectors have been lauded for decades. However, it has yet to become widespread, perhaps due to the challenges in successfully reading hidden or densely stored items: a challenge that is solved by 1Logic's patented scanning process and the end-to-end inventory management capabilities of AIMS.
What if I don't want RFID?
AIMS is first and foremost a mobile-powered warehouse management system. Using only barcodes, AIMS delivers electronic pick lists, digital stocktakes, real-time stock visibility and synchronisation with your ERP.
The journey to adopt RFID can also be incremental. Many of 1Logic's clients have phased their implementation including pilots or limiting to certain stock groups. Transition at your own pace, after seeing the benefits in action.
